BOOKS ON THE LIGHTRAIL / DENVER, CO
I'm Aanal. Early March of 2017 I stumbled across all the viral videos and articles of Emma Watson dropping feminist books for International Women's Day. I loved it!! I started looking into Books on the Underground & Books on the Subway and was so inspired with such a simple yet unique way to bring reading back into people's lives.
Reading has always kept me grounded, patient and more worldly. Books on the Lightrail launched April of 2017 as a way to get Denverites to be more observational (to find the books), to unplug and to enjoy a book on their commute! I also love that it's about discovering new books, rather than what may be recommended or one's usual reading line up!
Outside of dropping books off, I'm a software engineer, a crafter, a painter, a snowboarder and all around adventurer. Books on the Lightrail definitely has me reading more than I used to and I'm hoping it's had the same effect on other Denverites!
Some of my favorite reads:
A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini
The Buddha In The Attic - Julie Otsuka
Creativity Inc - Ed Catmull
The Night Circus - Erin Mortgenstern
